Hey Queens,
My name is Kate. I am a Nurse, Mom, Wife, and Entrepreneur.
I have been a Nurse since 2015. My experience ranges anywhere from ICU to IR.
I understand where you are coming from, and I’ve been there before. I was that burned-out, overworked, stressed-out, overstimulated woman who knew she wanted something different. But what the hell do you do?
At first, I thought the answer was to go back to school. And I did.
However, after almost completing my DFNP, I realized I needed to do some inner work. After pouring myself into everything self-development, I finally figured it out.
This podcast and site are the fruits of all my labors. I must share what I have found with other women who are feeling the same way I was.
My promise is to always inspire and motivate you to reach for more. Listen to “you” and what “you” is saying.
You did not waste your time. You are right where you should be. Right now is perfect.
Everyone Has A Dream
Why is dreaming Big so essential to your goal success?
Well because dreaming is literally your goal lol.
When you think about your life and who you want to become, or what job would be amazing, or what your life could be. Your dreaming.
Having dreams is essential to your success. You need to dream big, want the impossible, and start believing that it’s true.
I follow this mindset energy influencer, Amanda Frances, she really focuses on your mindset around money and earning.
But, what I really love is when She says repeatedly “god put those desires there.” He wants you to have that mansion, that fancy car, and that impossible vacation. He is the one who placed those desires there. Yes, some of those wants are encouraged by social media but there is a part of you that wants that thing so badly. That part is placed there by god.
Everyone has a different dream; those dreams are there to encourage you to go get it. If your dream is to be a nurse and work in a hospital. Then that is amazing and you should work your butt off to get that. If your dream is to own a farm in Montana then do that, but just go for your dreams.
In researching for this episode I stumbled on a Forbes article which I’ll place in the show notes. These are their 8 reasons to dream big. So let’s go over them
1)Because there is less competition higher up (LOL, very true).
2)Because falling just short of the big goal is still pretty good.
3)The bigger the dream the more people you can help.
4)Because small is easy and boring. So you’re here listening to my podcast because you want more, I feel like it is safe to say this here, if you want to dream small then continue to work at the hospital or hope for a pacu position and continue living your life, but if your dream is huge and scares the living shit out of you, great! Let’s get to work.
5) Because there is always a way. Okay, they got me here with a Walt Disney quote lol “All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.” Tears.
6) Because you are newsworthy (I changed it a little bit but it’s way better this way).
7) You’re capable (I have said so many times that nurses are made to be entrepreneurs, the skills we have developed can rule the world, I mean we rule the hospital right).
8) Finally, on a more serious note because we all know too well that your time here is not infinite.
Journal Your Heart Out
So how the heck do you start to focus on your dreams and make them into something you can actually work with?
Well welcome to my world. I have created several tools that will help you focus your energy on an actual action plan. So, make sure you subscribe to the waitlist so you can snag a discount code when we release them.
So down to business.
The first step is to journal. Yes, sit down by yourself, in a quiet area. Set the mood, get comfortable, bring a good drink, a nice pen (ohh you know we all love pens) and a notebook with plenty of room.
I want you to start just thinking, what do you want your life to look like in 10 years?
What do you want your job to look like? What do you look like doing your job? Is your job in an office, hospital, clinic, or at home? What does your house look like? Is it the same house that you live in now? What does the kitchen like, your room, your furniture? What color is the house? Do you have a big yard? What is your patio like? Your family? Do you want kids or more kids? Have you gotten married? Did you finally adopt that dog? What do you want your social life to be like? Do you want to go on vacation? Where do you want to go on vacation? What do you want to do on vacation? Who is with you?
I want you to go as deep as you can and for as long as you can.
Let It All Soak In
Now that you have your big dream, I want you to sit with it. Think about some goals you could set, we won’t be setting any goals now, we have some more work to do before that. But I want you to really let it sink in. re-read it and allow it to become your reality.
I have had so many conversations with nurses who say “You are such a dreamer, that’s just not me.”
We all have dreams. During this exercise you are not going to act on them, I just want you to allow yourself to be able to take in the possibility. This is essential work that you have to complete if you want to move forward towards this dream.
So let me be the first to congratulate you. You have completed the first steps in moving towards your dream life.
