What’s up Queen,
My name is Kate, I am a Nurse, Mom, Wife, and Entrepreneur.
I have been a nurse since 2015. My experience ranges anywhere from ICU to IR.
I understand where you’re coming from, and I’ve been there before. I was that burned-out, overworked, stressed-out, overstimulated woman who knew she wanted something different. But what the hell do ya do?
At first, I thought the answer was to go back to school. And I did.
However, after almost completing my DFNP, I realized I needed to do some inner work. After pouring myself into everything self-development, I finally figured it out.
This podcast and site are the fruits of all my labors. I must share what I have found with other women who are feeling the same way I was.
My promise is to always inspire and motivate you to reach for more. Listen to “you” and what “you” is saying.
You did not waste your time. You are right where you should be. Right now is perfect.
In this episode, I’m going to be talking about some tools that you can use to help understand your actions a little more. I have used all of these tools and I will share my favorite one later on in the episode.
Tools You Can Use To Help Guide You
The three big tools I am going to chat about today are enneagrams, human design, and astrology charts or birth charts.
All of these can help you understand yourself better and help you understand what makes you tick. Guiding you through making decisions and trusting your gut.
Enneagrams
Hearing a ton of people talk about their enneagram numbers made me curious. I used the company Truity for my test.
An enneagram is an emotionally focused personality test that categorizes your traits and places you into one of 9 types. They are numbered, so I am a 3 primarily. This test is really good for focusing on fears and motivators.
To narrow this down the 9 types have been subcategorized into 3 centers of intelligence. Heart, Head and Body. Remember this type is focused in on your emotions and behaviors.
Hearts
Hearts which include types 2,3, and 4 are very emotionally driven. They act on emotional feelings and value recognition and support on an emotional level. They like to feel connected. 2s or the givers: value being loved and their fear is being unloved. 3s or the achiever values success and fears being seen an unworthy or of no value to others. 4s or the individualist want to be one of a kind and fear being too different or hyperfocus on their differences.
Heads
The heads, really value intelligence and find themselves in a controlling position, very type A you could say. These include 5,6, and 7s. 5s or investigators, these are the people who love knowing more, they seek it out, but their fears are getting in over their heads. 6s or skeptics love safety and they fear being unprepared for what is coming 7s or enthusiasts value the adventure and the excitement of the something new. They fear emotions and often find themselves jumping into things just to avoid the negative emotions.
Body
Lastly is the body type. They follow their intuition. They are good at following their gut feeling and making decisions based on their own bodies’ reactions. These include 8, 9, and 1. 8s the challenger values power and they fear just the opposite, being vulnerable or powerlessness. 9s or the peacemaker value ease and relaxation but the downfall of a 9 is their people pleasing. 1s or perfectionists value rules and order they fear being less than perfect and hold them selves to a impossible standard.
My Enneagram Results
My results: I score really high as a 3, 7,8 and 6. Overall I am a 3.
So how did I use this personality test to my advantage? Well, It’s a great way to understand you. Like there are things in here that just hit the nail on the head and when I read them I understand. Ya know that it’s not your fault its just the way your programed. I also use the enneagram as a development tool. I look at my weakness, for example how 3 s place their worth on their success and I try to work on this blockage and learn how to place more faith in my own worth and my own ability.
Using Astrology as A Tool
All right, astrology has been around for a very long time. Originally developed by the Greeks and adapted by the people of India, astrology has been used to chart the destiny of humans for a very long time. It is the practice of observing and mapping planetary changes at the time of your birth to explain and give guidance on your future.
I found this to be very revealing for me and very interesting.
Sun Sign
Sun sign= core personality: Taurus, I value calm and being present, focusing on the inner wisdom, and becoming clear and focused on my intentions will bring me peace, but warning: the material goods and often vote for safety, falling into the trap of going through the motions when they don’t follow their “authentic spirit and inner passions in life”
Moon Sign
Moon sign= Emotional nature: Capricorn, I love accomplishments and I’m driven and focused on goals, but when it comes to relationships with others I value stability and having a small close group. The key to achieving my dreams is to shift to a positive mental outlook.
Ascendant Sign
Ascendant sign= the impression you make on others: Taurus,
“You appear easy-going, calm, and steady. Your natural, unaffected beauty, is likely to not be very polished, so you prefer a neutral look that is accomplished through modest, soft, and natural materials.
You appear unwavering in your preferences, having quite a strong and developed personal taste; however, on the surface, you appear to be stubborn in your decision-making, but you are not that fussy.
In your approach towards your passions, you are persevering and undeterred once you set off in your chosen direction. However, you can fall into the trap of choosing the safe and tried path over and over again, simply because you value convenience, comfort, and ease.
To others, you might even seem quite lethargic and passive; in contrast, you see yourself as sensualistic, embracing the delights of the world, eager to be the receiver of enjoyment.“
Midheaven
Midheaven= career reputation: my sign is an aquarian: which says I seek a career in innovation, unconventional or unique. Strong personal freedom in that direction
Human Design
Ok lastly, My human design
Human design is a roadmap for your energetic type. There are 5 different types which include manifestor, manifesting generator, generator, projector, and reflector.
Similar to astrology you use your birth time and date in the system and it will generate a plethora of valuable information specific about you.
For those of you who speak Human Design, I am a 6/2 Generator Sacral authority
If you find this fascinating like I do, and you would like to find out more for yourself, you should look into these resources. Both, astrology and human design take a second to get a full report you can start using the enneagram but it takes longer bc you are answering questions so that’s time-consuming.
I hope you enjoyed this subject and I can not wait to see you all next week. Make sure you check out our freebies section.
