I was that burned-out, overworked, stressed-out, overstimulated working mom who knew I wanted something different. But had no idea how in the hell I was going to make that happen.
At first, I thought the answer was to go back to school. And I did.
However, after almost completing my DFNP, I realized I needed to do some inner work. After pouring myself into everything self-development, I finally figured it out.
This podcast and site are the fruits of all my labors. I must share with you what I have found to save you from feeling the same way I was.

Hey and welcome back to another episode of the Inspire RN Podcast. On today’s episode, I will walk through an exercise featured in the Clarity Course. I want to share this with you because it was so helpful to me in changing my view of my goals and I know it will do the same for you.
There’s Power In The Pause
Like I said, this episode I want to dive into an exercise that is well known in the coaching world. So you may have heard of this already, but I don’t care. It is helpful when you’re looking to create goals that feel aligned and give you that fulfillment you’re craving. I talked about it in episode 20, make sure you go back and listen to that episode as well.
Today I want to talk more about finding fulfillment in your life and the pressures you may be feeling. As you know, I work with women who are making big leaps and changes in their lives. I was one of these women, I know I have told my story multiple times, but guess what I will say it again. My education up to this point has cost me a ton of money and time. I am in a lot of debt to get to where I am today. So for me to start dreaming of something different. That was scary at first. I have always been a dreamer and was great at thinking about where I would end up but I was never great at figuring out how to make that a reality. Which is why I learned the stepping stone method and made it work for me.
Finding Clarity
My whole journey inspired me to create the Clarity Course so that you don’t have to waste years of your life with trial and error to start making progress. Do not misunderstand me this process is going to be hard. It will bring up emotions that you may not want to deal with, but we all have to walk through that cloud in order to get to the sunny side.
I wanted to bring this exercise back to you because if you are feeling unfulfilled in life right now, you don’t have to be. If you’re feeling overwhelmed and you’re not sure what you should change or even better yet, you know what you want to change but it all seems too much. I was there, right where you are today, and I remember that shut-down feeling, the exhaustion from too many tasks on my to-do list, but no option to slow down.
I have been there I have to tell you that you got this.
You are capable of making these changes.
Trust in yourself and know that you’re already doing it because you’re here and you have me.
The Wheel of Life
This exercise is called the wheel of life. It’s a great way to take stock of what is going on in your life and what you are unhappy with. There are several sections and I’ll have you download the free PDF linked in the show notes, so you can see what’s going on without me describing every section. So if you need to pause to go download that, please do and come back.
First, you want to take stock of where you currently are in each section and score each section from 1 to 10, 10 being the best feeling ever. Now, you might want to jot down a few ideas next to each section on what you might need to do to improve that area of your life.
In my post on journaling, I talking about getting everything onto the page. Life is a lot clearer when you have the ability to see it all. Keeping everything locked up in your brain causes the overwhelm and burnout. Truly, from a recovering brain clogger herself.
So maybe write down a few ways you want to improve each section or even better use my vision exercise, also in the show notes and start to dream up the perfect 10 for each section.
Once you have done that, you can then go back and see where you can start. I would love for you to pick one small thing in each section or to focus on one section at a time.
My Personal Experience With The Wheel Of Life
Making progress in these problem areas will eventually even out your wheel and you will start to see the joy and happiness life can bring you.
Here are some thoughts I have had while doing this exercise. When you start focusing on the positive changes you are making, you will begin to see more positivity around you. So the next time you complete this wheel In a few months, notice how the sections have changed.
I do this exercise every quarter. It is part of my prep for the quarter, I go over goals I want to hit and make sure that I have that clarity to move forward in a focused manner. When I do this exercise I tend to notice that as I pull up one section, the others tend to follow. For example, I have been really focused on my health this quarter and I am noticing that I am feeling better in my family life, my confidence and my energy is up so I am pursuing some scarier business adventures. All around when you focus on improving one area the others will begin to follow.
In the clarity course, this is one of the exercises I walk you through and I want to get my point across that for you to realize what you want and to start making progress you need to assess your life from several different angels, You need to look at making decisions via your values. You need to assess where you are now and be brutally honest with yourself about what you want. Once you have gained clarity, you have to start with goals that you can obtain and put in the work.

Next week I am going to talk in depth about my stepping stone method, but this method is a tool I use over and over again to get to where I want to be in life. To build that vision into a reality.
I will say this until I am blue in the face. Anyone is capable of achieving their dreams but they have to be strategic about their steps and clear in the direction they are going.
