Values Guide Your To Alignment
When my life coach asked me to complete this exercise, I was blown away. Knowing what your values in life truly are, is really important.
I have developed a values worksheet that can help you pinpoint what your inner code is and be able to make your decisions aligned with your values.
In this episode, we are going to chat about values and how to make sure you are making choices that align with your real values
Why Is This So Important To You?
I know that it sounds really boring when I say make choices that align with your values, but it’s really important and will help guide you to your dream life.
But, plot twist, your values are not what you believe them to be….
So when I did this exercise I was not surprised, but in the same aspect, I was because If someone were to ask me what are your values? I would not have stated what I found in this exercise.

When we act on our values we are able to make moves that are heading in the right direction.
I will say that my values are family, spirituality, financial freedom, dreaming, and adventure. I have them posted on my board in front of me to remind me to take those action steps daily.
When I say act on your values, what I mean is judge your actions on those values. So for example, buying a $300 purse, if it does not align with any of my values and goals, then it is not living in alignment with me. This purchase will cause friction in my life. The purchase is not making me financially free, nor is it adventurous. Now, if I was on a trip to Italy and I bought a $300 custom leather purse, I would actually say yes because it aligns with my value of adventure and dreams.
Does it make a little more sense now?
How The Heck Do You Do The Exercise Already?
Okay, let’s get into the actual exercise. So again go over to inspirern.com/valuealignment and download the worksheet.
This will have a list of over 100 values, you are going to highlight the ones that really stand out to you.
Then you will eliminate those that are similar in nature like achievement and success. They kind of mean the same thing, so eliminate that once that doubles up.
Once you have gotten to a smaller number of values pick your top 10.
You will see on that worksheet that there is a grid.
You will list the same values on the top and down the side.
The next part of this really requires you to have a lot of alone time. I want you to score those against one another. So family against adventure. Who scores higher out of 5?
Once you have made it though, you will total up each value on the side of the grid, not the top.
Highlight your top 5 scorers and guess what? Those are your values.
This is what you need to weigh when you are making decisions. If you follow this you will start to make better decisions in your life and make moves toward your dreams.
