Using the balance wheel for goal setting is transformative.

Balance Wheel Of Life
Okay getting down to business today we are going to be chatting about the balance wheel, also known as the wheel of life. This is a really popular exercise for self development and coaches to use when you want to focus in on areas of your life to improve.
If you didn’t know already, I am a mindset and business coach who helps women like you, a busy mommas in medicine we wants to reconnect with her dreams and passions in life, ultimately helping you achieve your goals according to your vision.
So why is it important to assess your balance wheel when you start this journey. Well, if you continue to run towards a goal and it’s just not happening for you, then it’s time to step back and evaluate your other areas that feel sticky.
I use this word sticky a lot and really all I mean is that “feeling of resistance” or just not a whole body “hell yes” feeling. I am huge on listening to your body and intuition and most of the time you have to feel out your decision not just listen. So feeling a sticky or just like you don’t want to move forward feeling is a sign that there are some things you need to work through.
When I first did this wheel, I had a lot of resistance and knowing this helped be to be able to pinpoint areas that would make me feel like I was moving.
Really, that is all you want this early in the stage. You just want to know that all of your hard work isn’t just for nothing. You want to see some movement in the right direction but you need to know the right direction first.
The balance wheel will help you do that. So enough talking, let’s dive into this exercise.

Time To Evaluate Your Life
The balance wheel is just what is sounds like, it is a wheel with sections and what you will do is rate yourself on how happy you are in this sections.
The sections are as follows: Finances, Career, Health, Social life, environment, services, love, growth, and mindset.
So let’s talk about each section so that you really understand what I mean here.
First finacnes. So money, how happy are you with the amount of money you are making, how about debt, or loans, or cars, Do you feel you need to work on this area of your life more or are you doing well in this area of life
Next, career. How do you feel about your career right now. Do you feel like you want to pivot or do you want more responsibility, do you want to go back to school or would you love to stay right where you are because you are happy and feel great about your career right now.
Health: health can be your physical health or your mental health but really mindset is also a lot of mental health so just choose how you would like to use it. How do you feel about your health. Would you like to eat better or exercise more. Do you want to run a marathon this year or do you want to just do yoga everyday. Just rate yourself on how happy you are with your health
Social life: do you find yourself wanting to hang out with your friends more, How about a girls trip or are you pretty satisfied with the time and events that yous particptating in. Maybe it’s the opposite you feel like you are saying yes to too much and you want to slow down a bit. Rate how you are feeling here.
Enivroment: this is a big one for a lot of my friends out there who are looking to buy a new house. Or want to change their environment. I like to keep this category to just your home, where you live, do you want to make improvements. Don’t branch out from their because we want to keep these areas of our lives that are changeable.
Service: this section is more about how you feel as a person. Do you feel like you are helping the world. Are you helping people are you giving back?
Love: realtionships, how do you feel about your love life, do you want more time with your sifnicant other, alone time, date nights. Are you looking for someone, or are you amazingly happy be single.
Growth: this section can mean a lot, it can mean education, and it can mean personal growth. I always feel that you ultimately know how your would gage yourself on this because a lot of us have already completed a lot of education and so growth to us might mean that they wanted to learn more about astrology so they score a little lower. Or if you are like hell no I don’t want to think about any more growth right now I am doing well. Score yourself higher.
Finally Mindset: how do you feel about your mindset, do you feel strong and positive about your goals and life at this time or do you feel like you need to read a little bit more. Development a more well rounded mindset. I have said it before this section is a journey but if you are feeling good and in a good frame of mind than let’s give ourselves a high score.
Okay, so when you do this exercise, it really doesn’t take that long, but if you want to get the most of this make sure you sit with the sections and think about what’s going right in that area of your life. Don’t always focus on negatives.
My Results From The Balance Wheel Of Life
I just quickly did this wheel and I am going to share with you how I scored myself. So it’s no secret that this company is new for me and this is a huge learning curve for me. While I am trying to build this company up I am still working and taking care of my family. I am also finishing my DFNP degree so…. Just a little back story.
If you didn’t notice each section has a score from 0-10. Finances, career, health and social life all scored around 50-60%. Now on the other hand I scored myself at 100% for growth because I am in a time in my life where I am just curious. I am always learning and taking classes, reading books, listening to podcasts, and I am doing a lot to growing and developing tools that lite me up.
So it’s that simple. Just go through and gage how you’re feeling. When you have your areas that need a little tender love and care, you focus your goals here more. So there is a lot to think about when you are setting goals up for success. And that’s what I am here to teach you. I want you to succeed and there is so many different ways to do that.
