What’s up Queen,
My name is Kate, I am a Nurse, Mom, Wife, and Entrepreneur.
I have been a nurse since 2015. My experience ranges anywhere from ICU to IR.
I understand where you’re coming from, and I’ve been there before. I was that burned-out, overworked, stressed-out, overstimulated woman who knew she wanted something different. But what the hell do ya do?
At first, I thought the answer was to go back to school. And I did.
However, after almost completing my DFNP, I realized I needed to do some inner work. After pouring myself into everything self-development, I finally figured it out.
This podcast and site are the fruits of all my labors. I must share what I have found with other women who are feeling the same way I was.
My promise is to always inspire and motivate you to reach for more. Listen to “you” and what “you” is saying.
You did not waste your time. You are right where you should be. Right now is perfect.
This is episode 23 and you are off to a great start this year with tons of helpful content to give you the best year ever. In this episode, I will share the easiest ways I have found for meditation for beginners, even when you are not good at meditating.
Meditation for Beginners
Meditation is a great way to reconnect with your inner voice. We all have an intuition and often we lose tough with this voice. The outside world may add too much stimulation or noise and will cause this voice to get quieter.
I found that when I started mediation the hardest part was silencing the negative voice or comments that came up. You know the ones like “You look silly” “OMG focus on my breath” and “Ohh shit I forgot to pack the lunches, I don’t have time for this”
After consistent practice, I was able to reach that point of meditation that counts, the zen energy. When you are in this energy you just know. You feel as light as a feather. You almost feel like you are pre-sleep but you’re not. This is the point when you are able to focus on the inner voice. Listen to what it is saying and ask your questions.
Strengthening this relationship is vital to your growth and honestly to your happiness. The closer your relationship is with your inner voice, the more you will listen and make decisions that align with what you want and not what everyone else says you should want.
My Favorite Traditional Mediation Practices
Meditation can be found everywhere. There is meditation for beginners on my peloton, apps galore, and all over the internet. I have a favorite guided meditation that I found on YouTube earlier this year and I love it for so many reasons, but here are just a few.
- 5 minute offers (short and sweet)
- Lots of variety
- Options for longer practice
- Her voice and the music choice is good (you will know as you explore who you like and who is annoying, Sorry not sorry)
- Super easy to access and FREE

Everyday Meditation
Here is what you’ve all been waiting for… the easiest ways to meditate for beginners and ultimately find that meditation-like zen in your everyday life. If you like a guided meditation this will be a little harder at first.
- Car rides with no music: I find that the humming of the car and even just the mindlessness of driving the same route every day can give you the calm and peace needed to reach the zen. I find that I often can connect with my inner self and gain clarity on long rides back and forth to work.
- Cleaning: Again, when you are focusing on a mindlessness task such as cleaning you can calm your mind while moving the body and get yourself into a sense of zen. I have a lot of breakthroughs when I am doing the dishes or folding laundry.
- Hard workouts: This one is a little bit harder, but I have found that when I am working out hard doing a HIIT ride, I can reach a sense of zen or calming my mind when I accomplish a part of the workout that I didn’t think was possible for me.
- walks: Mindlessness is key to finding the mediation zen in your everyday life. I can walk and busy my body while my mind clears and allows the voice of my inner self to be heard louder than before.
